Lady Elliot Island: Worth Visiting for Diving & Snorkeling?

I visited Lady Elliot Island last year, and it was honestly one of the best snorkeling experiences I've had in Australia. The water visibility was incredible, and the coral reefs looked very healthy compared to many other places I've visited. During just one snorkeling session, I saw several sea turtles, reef sharks, and countless colorful fish. The highlight of the trip was swimming near a manta ray, which was an unforgettable experience. If you enjoy marine life and clear water, I highly recommend adding this island to your bucket list.

Lady Elliot Island is definitely worth visiting, but it's important to plan your trip carefully because getting there can be expensive compared to other reef destinations. That said, the island feels less crowded and more natural than many popular tourist spots along the Great Barrier Reef. I spent three days there and enjoyed both snorkeling and guided reef activities. The staff were knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about reef conservation. If you're looking for a quieter and more authentic reef experience, this place is hard to beat.
