But fishing? It’s quietly one of the most iconic experiences in the South Island.

With crystal-clear lakes like Lake Wakatipu and Lake Wanaka, plus glacier-fed rivers full of brown and rainbow trout, the region is considered world-class for fly fishing.

But here’s my question:

Is it really worth dedicating half or a full day to a fishing trip while traveling?
