About This Discussion

I'm planning to try bungee jumping in Gili Trawangan, Lombok soon. Any tips for first-timers, safety advice, or things I should know before the jump?

Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks! 😊✈️

I tried bungee jumping in Gili Trawangan last year, and my biggest tip is to avoid eating a heavy meal right before the jump. The adrenaline rush is much stronger than most people expect. Also, take a few minutes to watch other people jump first. It helped me understand the process and reduced my nervousness. Once you step off the platform, the fear disappears almost instantly and turns into excitement.

@danielcooper Thanks for the advice! Watching other people jump first sounds like a great way to build confidence. I'll definitely avoid a heavy meal beforehand and try to enjoy the experience rather than overthinking it.

Make sure you check the weather conditions before booking your jump. A clear day gives you much better views of Gili Trawangan and the surrounding ocean. I also recommend arriving a little early so you can relax and get familiar with the staff and safety procedures. Feeling comfortable with the team made me trust the process much more.

@halil_ibrahim_koc That's a really helpful tip. I'd love to enjoy the view as much as the jump itself, so I'll try to pick a day with good weather. Arriving early also sounds like a smart idea.

If you're nervous, don't tell yourself not to be scared. Almost everyone feels nervous before their first jump. What helped me was focusing on the safety briefing and taking deep breaths while waiting. The anticipation is usually worse than the actual jump. After landing, you'll probably want to do it again.

@ranggawiratama I can definitely relate to that. I'm already feeling nervous just thinking about it! It's reassuring to hear that the anticipation is often the hardest part. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Bring a friend if possible. Having someone there to encourage you makes a huge difference, especially if it's your first extreme activity. Plus, they can take photos and videos of your jump. The memories are worth keeping because bungee jumping is one of those experiences you'll talk about for years.

@garyshu Great suggestion! It would definitely be more fun with friends, and having someone record the jump would make the experience even more memorable. Hopefully I can convince a friend to join me.

Don't rush off immediately after your jump. Spend some time enjoying Gili Trawangan afterward. The island has a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and great sunset spots. Combining an adrenaline-filled activity with a relaxing afternoon by the beach made the whole trip feel even more special for me.

@phamhuanglong That sounds like the perfect plan. I was already thinking about exploring more of the island, so combining adventure and relaxation seems like the best way to enjoy the day. Thanks for the recommendation! 😊🌴
