I highly recommend the Gili Islands, especially Gili Air. The water is calm, the beaches are beautiful, and it’s easy for backpackers to find affordable accommodation. You can even see turtles while snorkeling!

@ranggawiratama Thanks for the recommendation! Gili Air sounds like a perfect choice for a relaxed snorkeling experience. Seeing turtles in their natural habitat must be an unforgettable moment.

@helenamoreira You’re welcome! Gili Air is a great choice for beginners because the water is usually calm and the snorkeling spots are easy to access. Hope you get the chance to see the turtles someday! 🐢🌊

Have you considered Karimunjawa? It’s less crowded than many popular islands and has amazing coral reefs. The local atmosphere is also very friendly.

@garyshu Karimunjawa sounds interesting! I’m looking for a peaceful place with authentic local experiences, so this could be a great option. Thanks for sharing!

@helenamoreira Glad you found Karimunjawa interesting! It’s a peaceful destination with beautiful marine life and a more authentic island atmosphere. I hope you enjoy your backpacking adventure there! 🌴

For a more adventurous trip, I suggest Raja Ampat. It’s more expensive to reach, but the underwater scenery is one of the best in the world.

@abizard Raja Ampat is definitely on my bucket list. I agree that the budget might be higher, but experiencing such incredible marine life would be worth saving for.

@helenamoreira I hope you can visit Raja Ampat someday! Saving for the trip is definitely worth it because the underwater views and biodiversity are truly unforgettable. 🐠✨

Nusa Penida is a good option for backpackers. The snorkeling spots are beautiful, transportation is available, and you can combine it with other island activities.

@ida_rt Thank you for the suggestion! Nusa Penida seems like a great balance between adventure, beautiful scenery, and accessibility. I’ll definitely consider adding it to my itinerary.
