Staying in a Local Homestay at Seongeup Folk Village - Worth It?

Image/images/stories/content/content-1778758389979-78308173.jpg Curious About Traditional Village Life in Jeju Iโ€™m planning to visit Seongeup Folk Village in Jeju and thinking about staying in one of the local homestays there. The village looks interesting because many of the old stone houses are still preserved, and people still live with traditions that have been passed down for generations. I feel like staying overnight could be very different from just walking around during the day. Looking for Real Experience Iโ€™m interested in experiencing the quiet atmosphere of the village after most visitors leave. Sleeping in a traditional stone house, trying homemade local food, and seeing daily life in a more authentic way sounds meaningful. But Iโ€™m also wondering: Is staying in a homestay there comfortable enough for solo travelers? Are hosts usually open to sharing local stories or cultural activities? Is one night enough, or better to stay longer? If anyone has stayed at Seongeup Folk Village, Iโ€™d really like to hear your experience. Or if you know similar traditional village stays in Korea or elsewhere, feel free to share too

Solo Travel at Jeju Haenyeo Museum: Discovering the Legacy of Jeju's Sea Women

Image/images/stories/content/content-1777545891404-287269475.jpg A Journey Into Jeju's Living Heritage Traveling solo in Jeju led me to one of the island's most meaningful cultural landmarks the Jeju Haenyeo Museum. Dedicated to Jeju's legendary women divers, this museum offers a fascinating look into their resilience, traditions, and way of life. Why the Haenyeo Story Matters The haenyeo are more than divers; they are symbols of strength, independence, and harmony with nature. Through exhibits, artifacts, and personal stories, I gained a deeper appreciation for how these remarkable women shaped Jeju's identity. Have You Visited the Jeju Haenyeo Museum? If you've been there, what part of the experience stayed with you the most? Did it change the way you see Jeju's culture? I'd love to hear your thoughts, insights, or tips for fellow travelers planning a visit.
