February 7, 2026(The Sightseer)
The origin of the name Menjangan Island
Menjangan Island in West Bali is named after the wild deer often seen swimming to the island.
How to get there?
Located about 3–4 hours from Denpasar, it is best to stay overnight in the Gerokgak area before visiting Menjangan Island. As part of a national park, visitors are required to use a rented boat and a local guide to reach the island. From Banyuwedang Harbor, the boat ride takes around 40 minutes.
What Will You Experience There?
You’ll experience crystal clear waters, colorful coral reefs, sea fans, starfish, and if you lucky, you can find sea turtles. What you’ll get is more than just beautiful ocean views, Menjangan also offers an island full of wild deer, stunning landscapes, and lunch is usually provided by the guide and enjoyed right on the island with wild deer nearby.
If you’re feeling tired of the city’s hustle and noise, Menjangan Island offers a peaceful escape into nature.
